Your information, held lightly.
We collect almost nothing, and we tell you exactly what happens to the little we do. This page is the plain version.
What we collect
Only what you give us, and only when you choose to give it:
- Your email address, when you join the waitlist.
- Your name, if you fill it in on the notify form.
- The variant you chose, so we know which launch to tell you about.
- Your name, email address and message, when you write to us through the contact form.
You can browse every page of this site without giving us anything. There are no accounts and no logins.
Why we collect it
One reason. To hold your place on the waitlist and email you when Ritual Alchemy is available to order. We do not use your details for anything else.
Who handles it
These services process data on our behalf:
- Formspree delivers your signup to our inbox. It is a United States company, so your email address is stored on servers outside South Africa. Their privacy policy is at formspree.io.
- Google Analytics shows us usage patterns, like which pages are read most and how people found us. We do not use it to identify you.
- Google advertising — only if you accept it. When you do, Google may connect your visit to your Google account, so that we can tell whether our advertising works and show Ritual Alchemy to you elsewhere. Decline and it never runs. Google's privacy policy is at policies.google.com.
Cookies and similar tools
Three kinds, and the third is yours to decide.
- Necessary. We keep two values in your browser's own storage: which state you last chose, so the site greets you in the right colour, and your answer to the cookie banner, so we stop asking. Neither ever leaves your device.
- Analytics. Google Analytics sets cookies so we can see patterns, like which pages are read most. This runs for everyone.
- Advertising. Off unless you accept it, and described in full below.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. The site works fine without them.
Changed your mind?
Technical logs
Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, keeps short-lived technical logs of requests to the site, including IP addresses, for security and to keep the site running. We do not use these logs to identify visitors.
Advertising
If you accept advertising cookies, we use Google's advertising tools for two things: to see whether our ads actually bring people here, and to show Ritual Alchemy to you on other sites afterwards. To do that, Google may link your visit to your Google account and count you into an audience we can advertise to. That is the whole of it.
If you decline, none of that runs. You may still come across our ads, the way you come across everyone's — they simply will not have been chosen because of anything you did here.
We do not sell audience data to anyone, and we will not.
Other sites we link to
Pages on this site link out to places like Instagram, TikTok and Facebook. Once you leave our site, their privacy policies apply, not ours.
Children
This site and our products are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us their details, email us and we will delete them promptly.
How long we keep it
We keep waitlist details until launch communications are done, and no longer than needed for the purpose you gave them to us. Unsubscribe or ask us to delete your details and they are gone.
What we never do
- Sell your details to anyone, ever.
- Hand your name or email address to an advertising network. If you accept advertising, it works from your visit to this site — never from what you typed into our waitlist.
- Collect payment card details on this site. When ordering opens, payment will happen on Shopify's secure checkout, never in our own code.
- Ask for more than we need.
Your rights
Under South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) you may ask us at any time to show you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it entirely. One email is enough. We will act on it promptly.
If you feel we have not, you may complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa at inforegulator.org.za.
